Integrate Google Analytics with Cascade

With Cascade's integration with Google Analytics (GA), you can directly link Analytics data with a goal's progress. You need to configure the integration only once. After that, Cascade automatically syncs the data for you.

Using Analytics to create goal scores makes your life easier in a few ways:

  • You can use GA metrics to directly measure goal progress. If a goal has a name like 2 million site views, this is very handy!

  • You can use goals to show key Google Analytics stats in your Cascade Instance.

Before you start

Before you integrate with Google Analytics, there are a couple of things you'll need:

☑ A Google Analytics account
☑ A Cascade goal to receive the analytics data from Google Analytics

How to integrate Google Analytics with Cascade

For all Cascade integrations, start by selecting your profile icon. Then go to Integrations.

Link Google Analytics to your Cascade account

  1. From Integrations, select the Goal Progress tab.

  2. Find Google Analytics. Select + Add connection.

  3. Give the integration a good name. Choose whether to make the integration Public or Private.

ⓘ A private connection can be used only by the person who created it.
Public connections can be used by anyone in the instance.

  4. Select Sign in with Google.

A pop-up window appears. Follow Google's steps to log in to the service.

You've connected Google Analytics to your Cascade instance! Now it's time to link an Analytics metric to a goal.

Link an Analytics metric to a goal

  1. Go to your GoalDeck. Select the goal that you want to link with Google Analytics.

  2. Use the Task Completion dropdown to choose Google Analytics.

  1. Go to your GoalDeck.

  2. Select the goal.

  3. Use the dropdowns to change the metric.

FAQs

Why does it say "Unable to connect?"

Make sure that the Google analytics workspace has real data. Cascade can't sync with an empty workspace or account.

Does Cascade data affect Google Analytics?

No, the integration is one-way. Nothing you do in Cascade will change values in Google Analytics.

Where do these dropdown fields come from?

All the dropdown fields come from the data in your Google Analytics workspace. If a term confuses you, try searching for it in your Analytics workspace.

Summing up

This page goes over how to integrate Google Analytics with Cascade. After integrating, you can link GA metrics with a goal's progress.
If the integration succeeds, a goal's progress score should match the value of the Google Analytics metric.
