Active Goals in Cascade sometimes become unneeded or outdated, at which point it might make sense to archive them. Archived goals can always be brought back or reported on in the future, so don't worry about that!
There are a few places we can archive goals from:
Archive from GoalDeck
-
Click on the folder icon which sits on the goal to archive the goal.
-
Make sure to highlight any child goals that may need to be archived, and select the Archive button.
Everywhere else (still the three-dots menu)
-
To archive a goal click on the three dots (More Options) and select Archive. Next, verify which goal or goals in the tree should also be archived by clicking on them and proceeding to the Archive button. - OR -
-
To archive a goal from the Sidebar, click on the three dots (More Options) and select Archive to proceed with archiving the goal. Verify the correct goals and click the archive button.
Deleting Goals
If you're looking to hard-delete active/launched goals and completely remove them from the system, see our article on How to Delete Goals. Active goals must first be archived before being deleted.
However, Draft goals will not need to be archived prior to deleting. They can be deleted by clicking on the three dots the same way (More Options).
(Note: If the draft goal has sub goals attached to it, you won’t be able to delete it. The 'Delete' button will remain greyed out until all its sub goals are either archived, deleted or re-aligned to another parent goal.)
If you've archived a goal by mistake, see our article about How to Unarchive a Goal to get it back in place!
